During the match between LOSC and Olympique de Marseille on Saturday (1-1), Pol Lirola was sent off for an illegal intervention on André Gomes. The Marseillais knows his sanction.
A few days ago, LOSC and Olympique de Marseille engaged in a bitter duel on the pitch at the Orange Vélodrome. This, counting for the fifteenth day of Ligue 1 McDonald’s, ended with a draw (1-1), despite the excess of energy consented. Quentin Merlin, Marseille’s left piston, opened the scoring on the only local incursion into the area (17′) in the first period. We had to wait for the response, which only came in the last minutes from Bafodé Diakité (87′), author of the equalizer with a helmet strike.
The final was then under high tension, with a shower of cards: yellows, but also a red conceded by Pol Lirola (90+5′). The Spaniard, sanctioned by Willy Delajod for a dangerous tackle on André Gomes (studs were lodged in his shin), received a two-match suspension. He will miss the trip to Saint-Étienne, in the Coupe de France, and the reception at Le Havre in 2025.
