A flagship La Liga coach soon to be fired?

After tragic events in the city in recent weeks, Valencia also finds itself at a critical turning point in sporting terms. According to Marca, the club is seriously considering parting ways with its coach, Rubén Baraja. After another defeat against Valladolid last night (0-1), which confirms the worst series of results in the club's history (10 points in 15 games), Baraja's future seems compromised. The situation is all the more worrying as the team has never left the relegation positions this season and remains last after three consecutive defeats.

Baraja seriously threatened in Valencia

Despite a difficult start to 2023, Baraja saved the team from relegation at the end of the season, but this time around the coach looks set to pay for a disappointing 2024 campaign. The club has avoided giving clear public support to its technician, and now it is rumored that management is examining “all scenarios”, including that of dismissal. However, this decision is not up to local management, but to the majority shareholder, Peter Lim. This question is linked to important financial issues, including compensation of 5 million euros for Baraja, as well as the need to find a replacement.
