FC Barcelona made short work of Stade Brestois with a logical victory with a score of 3-0. Lewandowski made the difference.
FC Barcelona – Brest 3-0
Goals for Barça: Lewandowski (10th and 92nd), Olmo (66th)
Traveling to Barcelona, Brest especially set the stage on fire before the match, with a real Breton landing in the Catalan city. But outside the Ramblas, the SB29 was unfortunately less frisky than during its previous European outings. Eric Roy's team began under pressure from Barcelona, and a penalty sanctioned this domination. A bad outing from Bizot allowed Lewandowski to do himself justice with his usual relaxation from the penalty spot (1-0, 10th). We then thought Barça was heading towards a well-controlled match and the danger was to see the score swell. Brest remained in the match, to the point of reaching the break with this score of 1-0 which left Breton hopes intact.
But these hopes gradually disappeared in a second period where Barcelona would press to hurt. Dani Olmo hit the nail on the head with a slalom in the area (2-0, 66th). Pereira-Lage's reduction in the score was unfortunately refused for an offside at Mbappé (74th), and the last goal logically went to Barça through Lewandowski with a perfect sequence (3-0, 92nd). A logical defeat which will not be very difficult for the people of Brest to digest as the difference was palpable. And for the moment, this does not spoil the good start to the European season for the Bretons, who will also have to concentrate on the championship from now on.
