“Against Hoffenheim, we had a catastrophic first half and he didn't change his system! For what ? Then we were behind and we stayed three behind until the end, I don't understand. It’s incomprehensible”he insisted. Lyon led (1-2) before conceding the equalizer in the last seconds of the match.

Faced with these criticisms and the club's delicate financial context, Pierre Sage's position seems precarious. John Textor however qualified his comments on the question of a possible dismissal of the OL coach: “I will never fire a coach who tries to win, but I will fire one who tries not to lose”.
