Jérôme Rothen's indiscretions on the future stadium

According to the indiscretions of Jérôme Rothen revealed Friday in Rothen s'ignée on RMC, PSG and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi have given themselves seven years for the construction of a new stadium, the purchase of the Parc des Princes no longer being a priority.

Nasser Al-Khelaïfi confirmed it this Thursday in the show Rothen s'igne: he wants PSG to play in its own stadium, and no longer at the Parc des Princes, which cannot accommodate as large a capacity as the others European leaders. A question of life and death for the Parisian president, even if the Park remains “the DNA of the club” according to Jérôme Rothen.

“At the start, I was a little angry with them. Do everything to keep the Parc des Princes. It's still the history of Saint-Germain and leaving the Parc is not putting an end to the DNA of the club, but it is a hindrance for the history of Paris Saint-Germain But if we have to go through that, because I also understand the arguments… Compared to what President Nasser Al-Khelaïfi says, people say that it is false, that he's a liar. Why would he come on the show to tell us about bananas, sausages, and not think anything less? In my opinion today, the chances are eight or nine out of ten. so that PSG can build its stadium”, he confided in the show Rothen s'igné on RMC this Friday.

Time is running out for Paris

The construction of a new enclosure would therefore be vital for PSG, with a view to having a stadium with a large capacity, something impossible to acquire at Porte d'Auteuil, even by carrying out work at the Parc des Princes. “There is a loss of 20 to 30,00 seats. Building a stadium outside Paris, yes, there are grounds today, there are possibilities. They believe in it strongly because there is has a lot of meetings,” continued the former Parisian, who has a few thoughts regarding the progress of the project.

“In three or four years, the construction must be well advanced, but there are seven years for the club to have a new stadium. For the moment we are going with this profile. It will settle down, except that he has seven years to have a new stadium with a large capacity, it’s clear, it was confirmed to me again today (Friday).”

Thursday, Nasser Al-Khelaïfi believed that it was the Paris town hall and Anne Hidalgo who pushed PSG to leave: “The city leaves us no choice”, recalled the Parisian president, who “does not have time to lose” in the face of increasing competition in Europe. “We need to build the new stadium as quickly as possible to be at the level we want.”
