Madrid shatters Mbappé's dream, Vinicius remains the boss

Kylian Mbappé crystallizes criticism because of his poor performance and suggests that the role of number 9 does not suit him. Carlo Ancelotti sets things straight.

Kylian Mbappé is not unanimous among Real Madrid followers. Recruited to play as a center forward, the top scorer in the history of Saint-Germain has not yet shown the full extent of his talent. The position of striker requires him to completely review his way of operating, he who has always been used to playing on one side. Logically, the Spanish press wonders if it would not be more coherent to have him play on the left so that he has a space in front of him that he cannot create by playing in the center. For Carlo Ancelotti, there is no question at all of moving Kylian Mbappé to the detriment of Vinícius Júnior.

Kylian Mbappé will remain in the axis

In a point on what is pointed out as a problem with the Merengue, Carlo Ancelotti took the time to validate the positioning of Kylian Mbappé on the pitch. Established in the axis, the latter will not slide into the left lane. “ I did not want to change the position of the player who makes the difference (Vinicius) and, in addition, because Mbappé has the characteristics to play as a (forward) attacker. There are times during matches when they change positions. But I don't want to change themr,” said the Italian technician, who makes things clear.

It will therefore take expert work to make Kylian Mbappé the top striker so desired by Real Madrid. Carlo Ancelotti wants to allow him to have the same performance on the pitch as that which Karim Benzema had when he was still playing for the Merengues. In the meantime, he was able to take advantage of an international break with the Madrid staff to try to improve. As a reminder, Mbappé has only scored one small goal in his last 7 matches in all competitions, and in the big match against Barça, he was ridiculed by the Catalan defense by being caught almost 10 times in the trap of offside.
