Antoine Arnault, representative of Agache, the holding company of the Arnault family involved in the takeover of Paris FC, returned to his relationship with PSG.
This Wednesday, the president of Paris FC, Pierre Ferracci, and Antoine Arnault, son of Bernard, held a press conference to talk about the takeover of the club. In fact, PFC will be 55% owned by the Arnault family, compared to 15% for Red Bull, the energy drink brand. On track to move up to Ligue 1, the Ile-de-France club (leader of Ligue 2) has great ambitions for the future, including that of competing with PSG. Asked by RMC SportAntoine Arnault discussed at length this emerging comparison with the reigning French champion.
“I think there is room for two clubs in Paris”
“Let me be clear: I have been a PSG supporter since I was 12 years old. I was a subscriber for many years, today I am very kindly invited by Nasser whom I know well and who is a friend and I have enormous admiration and respect for what he has built with his shareholder . PSG is a great club that I admire, and I will not have the immodesty to compare myself or to try to create a kind of artificial rivalry between our club today and the future club that will be Paris FC and the current PSG,” he clarified.
“On the other hand, I think there is room for two clubs in Paris, I think there is room to build two different, perhaps complementary stories. What we want is to continue in the popular tradition of Paris FC, to continue to do things well. And it's not because we do certain things that they are necessarily in opposition to PSG. Besides, I will always be a supporter of PSG while being a shareholder of Paris FC. Except, I hope, when we are in Ligue 1 twice a year or there, I will be more for Paris FC,” concluded Arnault, with a smile.
