It's total chaos in the Turkish Federation!

The Turkish Federation is facing new chaos. 19 arbitrators and observers, who were dismissed from their duties by the Central Arbitration Council, requested the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice (BAM) to annul their decisions, which were also approved by the Central Arbitration Council. arbitration. The Turkish Football Federation is therefore being sued on the grounds that the arbitration council was set up contrary to procedure and the law. If the irregularity of the arbitration is approved by the court, as these 19 arbitrators claim, then all decisions taken will be considered as “null and void”. According to the Constitution, there is no right of appeal against arbitral decisions. However, the arbitrators and observers this time took a different path and knocked on the court's door on this issue, claiming that the arbitration board was constituted illegally.

Following the departure of Chairman Ali Günay, who participated in the initial formation of the Arbitration Council, members Cevat Okutan and Ali Savok as well as alternate members Deniz Gül and Feyat Kıyak, Burhan Karaloğlu and Ahmet Tüfekçi were appointed in their place . Failing to appoint alternate members as required by the regulations, these two people did not work at the Federation. This maneuver would therefore be contrary to the law and for this reason, a request was filed with the court. This legal action was launched by several Turkish arbitrators: Bahattin Şimşek, Burak Şeker, Murat Erdoğan, Mert Güzenge, Serkan Tokat, Hakan Ceylan, Kutluhan Bilgiç, Mustafa Sönmez, Erdem Bayık, Serkan Ok, İsmail Şencan, Alpaslan Dedeş, Emre Altun, Orkun Aktaş, Mesut Çarık, Taner Gizenci and Süleyman Abay.

A scathing revenge from the President of the Federation?

In the petition filed by Master Halil İbrahim Atabay, lawyer of the aforementioned arbitrators, it was asserted that the arbitration council was formed contrary to procedure and the law and that, therefore, all decisions taken against his clients were illegal. Meanwhile, Abdülkadir Bitigen and Tugay Kaan Numanoğlu also independently applied to the Istanbul Regional Court of Justice for the same reasons. According to newspaper information Nationalitythis whole procedure would be the work of revenge by the new president of the Football Federation, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, who was formerly president of Trabzonspor. In conflict with the referees, he had caused great controversy at the time and was for a long time the subject of rumors of possible threats made against the referees of the Trabzonspor-Gaziantep matches played on October 28, 2015 and Trabzonspor-Konyaspor played on the 2 October 2015. İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu would therefore have terminated the functions of these people after his enthronement as president of the Federation of Türkiye Football (TFF):

«The referee or observer was excluded from the team without reason, without justification and illegally. The main reason for this situation is the Trabzonspor-Konyaspor match on 2.10.2015 and the Trabzonspor-Gaziantep match on 28.10.2015. Despite the 9 years that have passed, unfortunately, acting with a passion for vengeance, all referees and observers who worked in the competition at that time were fired», It is written in the press release. Turkish football can no longer get rid of controversies, while last season, a Turkish referee was hit by the president of Ankaragücü. Supporters, some of whom had bladed weapons, also invaded the pitch to attack Fenerbahçe players against Trabzonspor. The Fenerbahçe president was also beaten up by his own supporters in another match. Not to mention, the sex tape scandal between a 24-year-old referee and her 61-year-old boss, both of whom have since been laid off.
