Indeed, according to Sud-Ouest, the FCGB is not in the financial capacity to ensure the organization of the match of the 8th round of the Coupe de France at Matmut Atlantique. Thus, it was decided to play Talence at the Stade Paul Bernard because the Stade Sainte-Germaine is unavailable.
Despite the availability of Matmut Atlantique, it is in Talence, a smaller and less expensive stadium, that this 8th round match will be organized. It is scheduled for September 1 at 5 p.m., indicates the regional daily.
The Bordeaux reserve and Ligue 2 Girondins played several times last season. Bordeaux, for example, hosted Trélissac in pre-season in this enclosure which can accommodate up to 2,500 people, grandstand and weigh-ins included. An agreement with Talence town hall is about to be concluded for this organization.
In addition, France 3 volunteered to broadcast the meeting.
Towards a closed session because of ultra groups?
The question of welcoming the two Ultras groups arises because of their antagonisms. Interviews are planned with each group (North Gate and Ultramarines) between Arnaud Saint-André who is the new general manager, and the stadium manager, the historic David Lafarge. In the event of failure, a closed session could be considered, sanctioning the entire community of Girondins de Bordeaux supporters and lovers of regional football.
By choosing a stadium with a capacity of less than 3,000 seats, the Girondins have already chosen to do without part of their audience.
