Without ideas, the French Espoirs Team ends its year by beating Germany

A tasteless first period. A second barely better. The French Espoirs team actually hosted Germany this Tuesday evening in a friendly clash. A meeting which saw the two teams part with a parity score, two goals everywhere, for the last match of the two countries in 2024.

The score could have been larger

Germany will immediately put their foot on the ball and open the scoring in the fourth minute of play. Woltemade is launched deep into the right lane and takes advantage of the very poor opposing defensive line to offer a duel to Maximilian Beier. The one who participated in the last Euro with Germany, in his country, took advantage of a very poor reading from Obed Nkambadio to push the ball into the back of the net. The French Espoirs team is not succeeding at all at the start of the match and is entrenched in its own half. In the 18th minute of play, Tresoldi presented himself one on one against Nathan Zézé. After four minutes of play in the second act, Germany will repeat and find the net. Alone in his right lane, Knauff crosses at the far post for the head of a completely alone Maximilian Beier. The locals are not there at all, like the attacking midfielder of Paris-Saint-Germain. At the hour mark, the latter will finally find a gap for Valentin Atangana, who obtains a penalty after a poor return from Gruda. The Friborg right-back serves Loum Tchaouna behind, who just has to push the ball into the back of the net. The Bleuets therefore end their year with a sad draw at home against Germany.
