Arsenal would like to steal Luis Campos from PSG

Sports advisor to Saint-Germain and strong man of the Ile-de- project with Luis Enrique, the Portuguese Luis Campos would be one of Arsenal's targets for the post of sports director, according to the British press.

Edu leaving for Nottingham Forest, Arsenal would see themselves drawing from PSG to replace him. According to information from Sky Sports, the London club would like to make Luis Campos its new sporting director. Known for his ability to unearth talent, the Portuguese would fit perfectly into the DNA of the Gunners who could therefore approach him to try to convince him to sign for the Premier League.

Still according to the British media, Luis Campos would thus be a prime target for Arsenal for next summer but would find himself in competition with Simon Rolfes (Leverkusen) and Roberto Olabe (ex-Real Sociedad). The name of Luis Campos would even have been discussed during a meeting between London leaders following the announcement of Edu's departure.

Luis Campos negotiates to extend at PSG

Key man of PSG, Luis Campos still does not know what his future will hold. Officially integrated into the club's organization chart in 2022, the Lusitanian manager will reach the end of his contract next June. If discussions continue to extend the adventure in Paris, nothing has been signed for the moment and the arrival of Arsenal could further change the negotiations. As RMC Sport explained in October, Luis Campos could extend his lease at PSG for two additional seasons, until 2027.

Courted in England, the one who allowed the discoveries of players such as Bernardo Silva and Victor Osimhen is currently enjoying a good period at PSG. Since the appointment of Luis Enrique during the summer of 2023, the two men seem to work well together and despite the departure of Kylian Mbappé, to whom he is close, Luis Campos has not lost his aura within the capital club.

“With Luis, I have daily contact, if we do not see each other physically, we are in contact by telephone, otherwise face-to-face. I started this position by discussing with him,” Luis Enrique even explained at the beginning of November in front of the press. “I don't know what the future will hold but I would like this future to be written with Luis Campos and his entire team. I have no doubt about that.”
