The DNCG verdict fell like a blade. These measures, although still provisional, reflect alarming financial difficulties within the club. Olympique Lyonnais is today paying the price for unfortunate strategic decisions and financial management that has been put to the test.

By prohibiting OL from recruiting, the DNCG further complicates the team's task. A colossal challenge, especially in a context where reinforcements were necessary to hope to remain in Ligue 1.

Former emblematic president of Olympique Lyonnais, Jean-Michel Classes quickly reacted to this announcement. In a message posted on his X account, he expressed his attachment to the club but also confirmed that he would not return to take over the reins.

« OL, with its supporters, is a wonderful club, among the first for academies (M/F) for both women and men. It's up to the new team to write a new chapter in the club's history. I will devote myself to the development of women's football and the FFF »
