If Olympique de Marseille has mainly planned to strengthen its defensive line this winter, the Marseille club remains attentive to possible good moves on the transfer market. In this sense, the French team would currently be following in the footsteps of African hope.
According to information from Africa Foot, OM have expressed their interest in Amadou Soumaré. He is a young 20-year-old Malian attacking midfielder, who plays for the Djoliba club (Mali). The latter has recently caught the eye of many European clubs.
OM: tests planned for December for the Malian nugget
The Marseille club is one of these clubs and could offer him trials next December when he goes to France. Amadou Soumaré is also closely followed by Quevilly Rouen Métropole (Ligue 2), in France.
This young Malian football hopeful attracted the attention of recruiters thanks to his good season in Malian D1. He has in fact played a total of 19 matches for a nice record of 9 goals and 7 assists. A departure for Europe this winter seems almost inevitable.
The profile of Amadou Soumaré
Africa Foot quickly presents Amadou Soumaré: “With strong mental resilience and a daring spirit, Amadou Soumaré has established himself as a leading technical leader. Always inspired on the pitch, he also stands out for his free kick skills.”
Expected in Marseille in December, it remains to be seen whether the tests passed by the Malian attacking midfielder will be conclusive and whether he will subsequently join the Marseille city. OM could in any case need an additional attacking midfielder this winter with the serious injury of Valentin Carboni and the probable departure of Amine Harit.
Passionate about sport and from Toulouse, I am of course a supporter of the great TFC, which has more titles than OM and OL combined over the last ten years.
