This Wednesday, November 13, the disciplinary committee of the Professional Football League (LFP) met and made certain decisions. She notably decided to open an investigation after the projectile received by Ambre Godillon during the meeting between Olympique de Marseille and Auxerre.
ASSE – MHSC: Birama Touré suspended with two yellow cards
During this disciplinary committee, a one-match suspension is also given to certain players for accumulation of yellow cards. The LFP writes in its report: “A match is closed following a third warning in a period including 10 official competition matches (Ligue 1 McDonald's, Coupe de France, Trophée des Champions) or by revocation of the suspension. sanction will take effect from Tuesday November 19, 2024 at 12:00 a.m.
Thus, among the sanctioned players, there is a certain Birama Touré. This 32-year-old Malian defensive midfielder, who arrived in Montpellier in mid-September, was therefore suspended for accumulating yellow cards. However, he has only had two since his arrival in Hérault and it takes three to be suspended for a match.
LFP error?
Error by the disciplinary committee or error on the technical sheets of the Ligue 1 matches in which he participated or another reason? The vagueness is total. But Birama Touré is currently well suspended for the resumption match, after the international break, on the pitch of AS Saint-Etienne. By November 23, match day between ASSE and MHSC, the situation should be clarified.
On the Montpellier side, we surely hope that this is an error, because Birama Touré is a fairly important player in Jean-Louis Gasset's squad. He has in fact participated in the last seven meetings of the Héraultais. Alternating between the status of starter and that of replacement, the Malian could be important for the MHSC with the suspension of Jordan Ferri, who is “ready to save the club”, for the trip to Forez.
Passionate about sport and from Toulouse, I am of course a supporter of the great TFC, which has more titles than OM and OL combined over the last ten years.
