The coach praises the values of his team

This Saturday at the end of the afternoon, ASSE returned to success by winning with a score of 3-2 against Fleury at the end of a match that was both exciting, spectacular and also very stressful. After this success, Laurent Mortel spoke on the club's official website.

The summary of the ASSE match

The women's ASSE started well against Fleury, with Cindy Caputo opening the score with a header in the 30th minute. Fiona Bogi doubled the lead with a free kick before half-time (2-0). In the second half, Sarah Stratigakis added a third goal for the Greens, but Fleury responded with two goals, making the end of the match intense. Despite the pressure, the Stéphanoises held the score 3-2 until the final whistle. Thanks to this victory, ASSE temporarily moves back to fourth place.

Laurent Mortel's reaction

“We had a good first half where we scored twice and we could have done better. Our start to the second half was more difficult even if we managed to add a goal. At the end of the match, we even scared ourselves a little if we can regret the hand not whistled on the second goal.

I regret having conceded these goals but this team had to come back. I saw values and respondent. It's a great victory which does us good because it is constructed.

Today, it is tactical discipline that gives us victory. I also found less technical deficiency and more forward projection. All these ingredients did us good. We found the values of this team.

Paradoxically, in our three defeats there were always good things which made us think that we could and should have done better in terms of results. Currently, we have 12 points, we didn't have that many last season at the same time.”
