Supporters: The CUP bans tifo in 2024, other sanctions in sight

As a result of the “Free Palestine” tifo deployed during PSG/Atlético, the Collectif Ultras was banned from tifo by PSG until the end of 2024. And other sanctions from the club should come.

I cheer them on « Free Palestine » revealed before PSG/Atlético Madrid (1-2) Wednesday evening had consequences for the authors, the Collectif Ultras Paris du Virage Auteuil. PSG, via its general director Victoriano Melero, was convened this Friday in the company of the FFF and was received by the Minister of Sports Gil Avérous, the Secretary of State in charge of citizenship and the fight against discrimination Othman Nasrou , and the Paris police chief Laurent Nuñez.

PSG at the initiative of the sanctions

A few hours after the meeting, the first sanctions fell and the CUP no longer has access to the Parc des Princes outside of match days. It is therefore impossible to organize for possible pre-match preparations but it is now useless since the ministry has validated PSG's proposal to ban tifos until the end of the calendar year 2024.

Over the last two months of the year, there are three matches left at the Parc, plus a possible fourth in the Coupe de which is quite improbable given the way the draw works, but only one poster with the reception of OL next December 15. The other matches, PSG/ and PSG/, will also fall within the framework of this ban on tifos.

Other sanctions to come

But PSG, which assures that the CUP has not “did not respect the rules” binding the two parties, should also announce other sanctions in the medium term. A much stricter procedure for controlling tifos, in particular to guarantee the absence of messages of a political nature, will be put in place while other sanctions should affect the CUP. In L'Equipe, stadium bans for members of the Parisian collective are mentioned in particular.

As a reminder, UEFA has not initiated any proceedings against PSG because “the banner displayed could not be considered provocative or insulting in this specific case.”
