By winning 2-0 against Strasbourg, ASSE won its third victory of the season. All his successes (against Lille, Auxerre and Lens) were obtained at Geoffroy-Guichard. This victory, accompanied by a clean sheet, brings welcome relief for a defense that has been struggling since the start of the season. One week before the return of the derby, Patrick Guillou analyzes this Saturday's meeting in his column for Progress.
Olivier Dall'Oglio played big – ASSE
After a worrying defeat in Angers (4-2), ODO had again lost credit. Less credit among supporters, but especially among its leaders. Expected at the turning point in a complicated context, ASSE and its coach were able to respond!
Patrick Guillou confirms this and continues: “In an icy atmosphere against Strasbourg, coach ODO played big. In an encounter that smelled strongly of the scent of chrysanthemums, the “self-made Cévennes man” continued to write his success story. By assuming the choice of others, in an unfriendly nocturnal situation, it seems appropriate to recall one's capacity for resistance.
His job currently is to find alternative solutions by tinkering. Important to boast of one's foresight to make situations imposed by other realities viable. The smell lamp of pride and the algorithm made it possible to keep Alsatian players upright. […] Nice for coach ODO to see baby birds grow with his aging eyes. Much more imagination in player development and a tighter collective. More trajectories and passes. With his bold changes, Olivier Dall'Oglio sent his detractors to the back of the corridor. The image returned is momentarily more serene. It's always nicer to have a coach who says the words that others can't verbalize. This precious success helps heal the wounds as well as the dark clouds.”
ASSE now travels to Groupama Stadium for the derby among the villains. Always a special meeting where the pressure will still be present.
