FC – OM (1-2): The notes of the great victory of , new runner-up to PSG

Olympique de revives against FC (1-2). The Phocéens quickly opened the scoring thanks to Neal Maupay.

Then, OM saw the Canaries equalize through Tino Kadewere. Marseille regained the advantage in the second half thanks to Mason Greenwood.

This victory allows OM to move to second in L1, overtaking AS Monaco.

Geronimo Rulli intervened for the first time against Kadewere on a poorly worked luff. On the 1-1 goal, the Argentinian goalkeeper clearly can't do anything when shot at point blank range.

In the second half, Rulli was again decisive with a close range shot on the hour mark. His two saves clearly led to a painful success.

Pol Lirola / Marco Canoniero/GettyImages

Pol Lirola was satisfied with the bare minimum with a few climbs in his right lane. The Spanish defender was never found wanting but did not provide the necessary technical accuracy.

Lirola was decisive on a comeback in the 51st minute after an error by Balerdi. His contribution in the defensive zone clearly does not need to be proven. We remain measured in attack, however.

Leonardo Balerdi / Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/GettyImages

Leonardo Balerdi could have clearly tightened the scoring on Kadewere's goal. The Argentina international left the Nantes striker alone at the penalty spot.

The Marseille captain was worryingly beaten in the 51st minute. Then, Balerdi returned to protect his goalkeeper. In terms of stats, the Marseille defender won more duels than he lost. The rare ones where he is exceeded almost led to tragedies.

Geoffrey Kondogbia / Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/GettyImages

Geoffrey Kondogbia had a double face: a definite contribution to the recovery but also unfortunate errors of assessment. The Central African international was notably at fault for a header error leading to an action from Kadewere. Again he is very poorly placed on Kadewere's goal not marking the six meter zone.

Kondogbia was again at fault after losing a lunar ball in the 66th minute. This OM leader in this position clearly shows understandable limits.

Quentin Merlin / Nigel Roddis/GettyImages

His return has done so much good in the OM eleven. Quentin Merlin is precise in his choices and intelligent in his climbs in his left lane. The French youth international is overwhelmed on the decisive cross for Kadewere.

With the ball, his presence is a real plus, his physique will return over time.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg / Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/GettyImages

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg brings serenity and wisdom in recovery and defensive placement. His openings for his wingers led to sometimes brilliant shifts.

The Danish international is a leader in his transmissions but also in cutting counter trajectories. He can clearly bring more with other relays.

Adrien Rabiot / Visionhaus/GettyImages

Adrien Rabiot has been in the oven and the mill but nowhere at the same time. The French international had a lot of difficulty putting himself forward in the zone of truth. A few losses of the ball were clumsy and unwelcome in his camp.

Rabiot ran a lot to compensate for his mistakes and those of his teammates. His shot from the right almost found the net but was pushed away by the post. He can clearly hit the ball better.

Ismael Koné / Robbie Jay Barratt – AMA/GettyImages

Ismaël Koné was almost inaccessible to his teammates. The Canadian international made almost no difference with his passing or his placement between the lines. The Marseille midfielder did not have time to turn around or have the balls to exist in the midfield.

We have almost nothing to note about its performance, proof of a major concern.

Mason Greenwood/MIGUEL MEDINA/GettyImages

Mason Greenwood quickly stood out with a dribble – shot sequence from the left at the edge of the area in the 5th minute. The English striker attempted and succeeded several times with crosses from the left. In the game, his choices were not always the wisest. On Maupay's goal, his call freed up space for the scorer.

Greenwood found the fault for OM on his special: feinting and hitting with the left. His presence in a corridor clearly influences the outcome of a match.

Neal Maupay – Catherine Ivill (Official Video)

Neal Maupay made the difference on the second opportunity within his reach with a pure nine placement. The French striker capitalizes on Rowe's good cross. The evening's scorer fought for each ball with aggression and desire against the big guys. He did exactly what was expected of him: to score as soon as he could.

Jonathan Rowe / MIGUEL MEDINA/GettyImages

Jonathan Rowe had few balls before his decisive cross for Maupay. The English striker was frustrated alone and was rewarded with his only notable acceleration. The Marseille winger is capable of the best and the worst in the same action.

Rowe managed to eliminate three players and then made a bad choice afterwards. He sometimes locked himself into individualistic gestures.
