OL (1-1): Sage justifies his use of Lacazette

Lonely in attack, Alexandre Lacazette still struggled to exist and even missed a big opportunity against (1-1). The OL captain once again received the support of Pierre Sage.

Twelve small balls touched and only two successful passes. Alexander's first half Lacazette Friday evening at Lille did not go far from nothingness. The OL striker was certainly not helped by a collective with absent subscribers. But when the latter finally got going during the second act, the captain's difficulties were even more glaring. Lacking success since the start of the season, Lacazette wasted a real offering from Rayan Cherki in the 52nd to equalize. A failure which could have changed a lot of things in the scenario of this draw (1-1) and which confirms the difficulties of number 10. “You know him like me, Alex, even in a match in which he is average, he is capable of scoring, on a ball that is lying around…”tried to justify Pierre Sage.

However, despite his technical approximation, Alexandre Lacazette remained on the field until ten minutes from the end of the match. Rock Sage did not choose to replace him with Georges Mikautadze than in money time. A change too late while the Georgian remained on a double against ? The coach accepted his choice. “When a player doesn't come back, it's not out of bad intention. Georges (Mikautadze) was ill during the week, I take responsibility for my decision, even if he could have come back earlier and played more.”

However, this use at the forefront of the attack risks being a subject which will lead to discussion in the coming weeks if Alexandre Lacazette still does not adjust the sights…
