On Liberté FM, the former Girondins de Bordeaux full-back,
François Grenetcandidate for President of the LFNA, spoke about the remuneration he would have if he were elected head of the League. This would be half of what his predecessor received.
“We have to be transparent… Will I be a salaried president? Yes, and I will explain it to you. It’s a 200% or more commitment. I am not a retiree, and this will be my activity, my profession. Afterwards, I respect everyone's points of view. But to keep it short, it will be half (of €10,000 per month). And I will even go further, this amount will be fixed over the entire duration of the mandate. You know, once you have the confidence, you can make it grow out of thin air… No. This will be set in stone for the duration of the mandate.”
Moreover, the watchword of the former Bordeaux resident was transparency, which means that he wishes to involve everyone in the life of the region.
“We need transparency, because opacity is when we have something to hide. It's our state of mind. As a citizen, you can attend a municipal council. It’s the same in the national assembly. Why wouldn't those who play football be invited to the steering committee of the regional body?! “.
Although he will not only be on site and will travel, he will nevertheless be “domiciled” near Bordeaux.
“I have a family life, I have a 21-year-old son, but I also have a little girl who turned ten two days ago, and we must not forget that either. I know that if the outcome is positive, my children may not see me much, but I still want to preserve my balance in life. So I will be more in Haillan, but that does not mean that I will not be elsewhere, but I will be based where I live. But a League President, in his governance, with a general director, must be a field president, and not an office or sedentary president.”
