Tensions eased between Joseph Oughourlian and Nasser al-Khelaïfi?

We had left the president of RC Joseph Oughourlian and its counterpart in PSG Nasser al-Khelaïfi apparently a little angry last July while the LFP was still looking for which solution to opt for for the broadcast of Ligue 1 this season. The national media had reported heated discussions during the meetings, the Parisian boss losing his temper against the Lensois, a supporter of an LFP channel and who subsequently withdrew his candidacy to appear in the new council of administration.

Joseph Oughourlian would have criticized the Parisian at the time for being at the center of a conflict of interest due to his position as president of BeIN Media Group, which the person concerned did not appreciate. According to comments reported in the columns of The Teamrelations would have calmed down between the two leaders, who will not meet at the Parc des Princes since Nasser al-Khelaïfi has obligations in Doha as part of the finals of the World Cup of padel. Comments coming from the entourage of the president of PSG were thus relayed by the daily this Saturday morning: “ Nasser, on the other hand, – like the majority of Ligue 1 clubs – did not agree with Joseph and John Textor to launch a new channel in one month and without guaranteed minimum income, especially in a period of deep financial crisis in French football . However, Nasser has always advocated exploring launching a new channel in the longer term provided there is a plan and guaranteed minimum revenue. And all the clubs now agree, including Joseph, that launching this channel in one month and without money would have been suicidal. The debate on rights has therefore not changed their relationship which remains very positive and respectful. »

Meet with the LFP Media strategic committee

Note that Joseph Oughourlian did not wish to discuss his relationship with the Parisian president for the daily, while specifying that this should not be open to interpretation. Furthermore, the two men appear together on a strategic committee of LFP Media.
