An OL player admits, he is amazed by Cherki

Present this Friday at a press conference 48 hours before the trip to Le Havre, Malick Fofana returned to his first selection with Belgium. A moment obviously eagerly awaited even if it was not filled with success after a draw against Italy (2-2) and a defeat against France (1-2): “It was a special moment for me. I was very happy to have obtained my first selection even if unfortunately we did not get the results we wanted. I didn’t play much but I was very well received. If we perform well, we know that the coach is watching us. Jérémy Doku impressed me in training” he revealed.

For Fofana, Cherki is an “exceptional” player!

If the former Rennais, currently at Manchester City, impressed him, this is also the case for Rayan Cherki, whom he considers “exceptional”: “He is an exceptional player, he is very technical and understands the game well. I try to adapt to him, understand when he is going to pass or dribble. We talk a lot at training” he said before concluding on his personal ambitions: “I think about the team and always try to make the best choice for the team. Sometimes I have to think more about myself on the pitch. I have to keep performing. I always want to play as much as possible, starter or not, I try to give my best. I’m more decisive, I have more stats than last season. When I come on, I have to be in the match straight away to make a difference. I know I can do more.“
