Roberto De Zerbi has to deal with several injured players, this is the case of Ismaël Koné (ankle) and very recently Valentin Carboni (knee). However, the OM coach will recover several elements, one has already resumed training.
Little used by De Zerbi since the start of the season, Why Meite? suffered a muscle injury to the psoas of his right thigh. The latter is already back in training as evidenced by photos shared by the club showing the defender with his teammates at the RLD center. The Olympian coach will therefore be able to have an additional option in defense or at the false right-back position. Bamo Meïté will therefore be fit for the next matches against Montpellier and PSG. Note that the return of Quentin Merlin is also hoped for (see below).

Meity fit again
Quentin Merlin was injured with the Espoirs last September. While a simple crutch had been diagnosed by the French staff, the latter suffered a muscular injury to the thigh. the former Nantes player has resumed the race and a return was envisaged after this October break, nothing is assured because the staff does not want to miss the stages. Indeed, according to La Provence this Thursday, the Marseille medical staff will not take any risks. While the 22-year-old full-back is due to return to training next week, he will only do so if the tests are positive. His return is hoped for OM vs PSG.

Present on the DFM set, the tiktoker Johan Toutseul gave his feelings about the injury and therefore the absence of Quentin Merlin for several matches. “For me Merlin was really the gondola head of the De Zerbi system. we saw it from the first preparation matches with this somewhat hybrid role of full-back which fits a little inside, this is what created the gap. His injury came at the worst time for De Zerbi and for OM. (…) When Merlin was injured, it was Luis Henrique who played this role inside. Merlin is a professional, he has technical ease, he plays quickly with one or two touches of the ball, he often makes the right choices, I long for him to come back…”

Roberto DeZerbi also spoke about the absence of his left side at a press conference on Thursday: “I’m not looking for an alibi. We recently lost a very important player. we also have Luis Henrique who suffers from his absence (…) It’s hard to find the fluidity of the game when there are so many changes. There are variables to take into consideration. We didn’t lose in Strasbourg because of the absence of Balerdi or Merlin. We need to do better both in terms of play and behavior.”
