Last weekend was very positive for all the ASSE teams. Before the meeting of the men’s team who played against AJ Auxerre, the Vertes started the afternoon with a success a few hectometers from Geoffroy-Guichard. Victorious against Paris FC, they achieved the big blow of the third day of Arkéma Première Ligue. Currently second in the championship, they could take the lead at least temporarily this Friday evening against Le Havre.
ASSE’s feat against Paris FC
An ideal scenario took place last Saturday. Facing the best team in the championship which remained on two victories 6-0 and 8-0 against Guingamp and Le Havre, the Vertes achieved a perfect result. In added time of the second half, Cindy Caputo surprised the opposing goalkeeper. Final score 1-0 in favor of ASSE who won their first three matches. Laurent Mortel obviously really liked the performance of his players as he indicated on the ASSE website.
“We remember the feat of having beaten the PFC, 1-0, at home. It was a contested match where we tried to resist, to stay in place and to exploit the balls to hurt them in our phases of play. transition as long as we remained at 0-0, we knew we were capable of making them doubt. It’s easy to say it now but there were key moments with saves or authoritarian defensive attitudes which gave us. We knew that our transition phases could pose a problem for them thanks to our speed qualities. This is what we were able to do at the end of the match.
Focus on Le Havre to take the lead?
This time, ASSE travels to Normandy to face Le Havre. This poster will be the first of the 4th day of the championship. Broadcast on Canal + Sports, the meeting will take place this Friday October 11 at 9 p.m. Le Havre remains on three consecutive defeats against Nantes (0-1), Paris FC (8-0) and PSG (3-0). If successful, the Greens would take the lead while waiting for the PSG and OL matches which will take place the next day.
