Arriving to become the new boss of Paris Saint-Germain’s defense, Milan Skriniar has fallen precipitously in Luis Enrique’s hierarchy. He is no longer a starter and has even seen newcomers Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho pass him by in recent months.
Upon his arrival at the club in 2022, Luis Campos immediately wanted to recruit Milan Skriniar. At the time, the Slovakian was considered one of the best defenders in Serie A and was slowly but surely approaching the end of his contract with theInter. He could also have landed at PSG from this summer of 2022 against compensation of around €70M, but he finally arrived free a year later, attracting the wrath of his former supporters.
Skriniar’s descent into hell
Everyone hailed the masterstroke of Campos at that time, but the situation changed radically for Skriniar. Holder alongside Marquinhoshe lost his place over the course of last season and during the last summer transfer window he was even pushed towards the exit, without success. Reinstated since the end of the transfer market, he only played two short matches with the PSGaccumulating a total of 111 minutes of play.
Luis Enrique doesn’t understand
Several sources close to the club assure that Luis Enrique wouldn’t know any fan of the old oneInter. More La Gazzetta dello Sport goes a little further, explaining that the coach of PSG would absolutely not understand how his management could grant such a salary (he earns €11M per year in Paris) and promise a leadership role to a player of such a level! A revelation which clearly suggests that Milan Skriniar’s situation is not about to change and a departure during the winter transfer window could therefore be the only solution to the problem.
