The VAFC sinks in Orléans and falls for the first time

In the pouring rain, the VAFC never existed and lost heavily in Orléans (4-1) in this replay match from the 2nd day. The Hainaut club records its first defeat of the season.

A slow agony for the VAFC

You have to believe that every time VA travels to Orléans, the elements are unleashed on the Source stadium. At the end of August, flames emanating from the enclosure refreshment bar led to the match being definitively stopped at half-time. A month and a half later, the autumn rains fell on the residents, showered and reorganized after the cascade of crimes (Louchet, Oyewusi, Kayi Sanda, Sissoko, Traoré, etc.).

And it didn’t take long before we saw that this VAFC, reorganized into 4-2-3-1 for the occasion, was not in the best shape. Fahd El Khoumisti secured the first (2′) of countless Ile-de- situations. A heroic Papa Camara and a hit post (12′) did not lull the Valenciennes residents into illusions for long. Guillaume Khous logically opened the scoring before the half-hour mark (1-0, 27′) to begin a somewhat crazy sequence.

3 goals in 5 minutes

If VA equalized immediately through Carnejy Antoine (1-1, 29′), who duly celebrated his first start of the season, he was quickly put in his place by El Khoumisti (2-1, 32′). The Orléans striker was able to double the score without a major intervention from Lucas Woudenberg (35′), when Jordan Poha took excessive risks in front of his goal (45′). Never dangerous, the VAFC, not awakened by half-time, was still sinking a little more.

Poha conceded a penalty logically whistled and transformed by the inevitable El Khoumisti (3-1, 58′), before the entire Hennuyère defensive line was found wanting in a catastrophic defensive transition and which Grégory Berthier took advantage of (4-1, 78′). ′). Under the humiliating olé of the Source stadium, the USO put an end to Valencia’s invincibility which had become increasingly fragile in recent weeks. VA, which has not won for a month, fell for the first time this season, missed an opportunity to take first place and let its opponent of the evening, a direct competitor, settle on the podium with plenty of trust. That of the VAFC, fifth, is at half mast.

The match film:

2′ The Valencian hinge is taken by the center of Goujon. El Khoumisti takes the lead but doesn’t hit the target.

12′ From the right side, Halby crosses at the far post towards Khous, who takes over but comes up against a Camara who intervenes very well. On the following corner, Orléans found Camara’s post.

27′ Orléans finds a gap on the left side. On a cross from Goujon, Camara repels the first strike before Khous arrives in the second blade. (1-0)

29′ Flamarion finds Antoine in depth. The Valencia striker tackles the goalkeeper, procrastinates a little but manages to push the ball into the back of the net. (1-1)

30′ Testud finds El Khoumisti, who tries a complicated recovery and does not fit.

32′ El Khousmisti gets back on his right foot and continues with a powerful but axial strike. Camara is on the trajectory but is stranded on this slippery ball. (2-1)

35′ El Khoumisti presents himself alone against Camara, but Woudenberg tackles magnificently in his area.

45′ Poha takes huge risks in front of his area and loses the ball. Camara delivers a nice tap to clear for a corner.

58′ Caught in depth, the Valencian defense is failing. Late in his intervention, Poha logically concedes a penalty. El Khoumisti is quietly transforming. (3-1)

67′ El Khoumisti tries to lob a Camara forward, without frame.

71′ Halby’s cross-shot forces Camara to divert for a corner.

77′ Far too high after a long touch from Woudenberg, the Valencia defensive line lets Berthier rush to goal and deceive Camara. (4-1)
