The Qatari owners of PSG went out of their way during the 2012 summer transfer window to recruit Zlatan Ibrahimovic from AC Milan. Arriving as a superstar in the capital, the former Swedish striker was a particularly tough opponent for Ligue 1 defenders. Milan Bisevac even calls him “a beast” on the pitch.

One year after the purchase of PSG in 2011 by the Qatarthe management had struck a huge blow on the transfer market by attracting Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The Swedish giant has long been at the head of the QSI project in the capital and was extremely effective for four years under the PSG jersey. Questioned in the columns of THE TEAM, Milan Bisevac remembers the performances ofIbrahimovic.

Intertitre 2

« The player I hated facing? Zlatan Ibrahimovic was a beast. You know you’re going to have a bad day with him. He is strong, technical, fast, mean. With Mamadou Niang in too, it was very difficult, he was boring. Very strong in movement, effort, sense of purpose. You don’t sleep peacefully the night before », indicates the former Serbian central defender, who went through PSG and theOL.

“Troubles every time”

Et Bisevac continues by being much less complimentary towards Mathieu Valbuena : « Most annoying player? Mathieu Valbuena, it’s the player profile that annoys you. He makes mistakes, he knows how to fall… There were disagreements between us every time. As soon as you touched him, he would dive into the pool. We, the defenders, don’t like it. Although, of course, there are mistakes. But you have to manage your emotions… Afterwards, when we were together in , I was happy because I knew he was going to hurt the opponent », continues the former player of the PSG.
