“Flemish isn’t really my thing” laughs Bafodé Diakité, Mitchel Bakker well integrated into LOSC

This Saturday, LOSC defeated FC (2-1) after a stunning second period in which the substitutes were of capital importance. Mitchel Bakker, in particular, stood out to the press.

It was hot, very hot for the Dogues, trailing by a pawn at the break during their duel with Toulouse FC. It was then necessary to count on the entrants so that the dynamic was reversed and they could gain the upper hand. Angel Gomes first managed to equalize (57′), taking advantage of the good work of Osame Sahraoui to hit the mark, when Mitchel Bakker launched perfectly from deep to give LOSC the advantage (72′). The Dutchman, who had just come into play, had been served by Ayyoub Bouaddi, who had appeared on the field since returning from the locker room. At the final whistle (2-1), Bafodé Diakité underlined the importance of the bench and the players who make it up: “When we see the new format of the Champions League, it takes a lot, a lot of energy. The coach tries to concern everyone. It will be hard and everyone will have to be present, those who perhaps play less will also count. Those who entered have done good, everyone must continue like this. The coach ensures that everyone pushes in the same direction”he began.

Having passed through Saint-Germain, Mitchel Bakker had remained shy until now, before opening his account in the colors, his new colors. The former Parisian is well integrated into the locker room: “When we perform well, it always puts us in a good dynamic. He already felt good in the locker room. He talks a lot with Thomas (Meunier), who was able to put him in the wagon with us. Flemish is not my thing (laughing), but we try to chat with him as much as possible” confirmed Bafodé Diakité, when Rémy Cabella also had a few words for his new teammate. It’s certain, Mitch is well integrated.

The achievement scored by the Dutchman took time to register on the scoreboard, the fault of a potential offside. The VAR then took its time to clarify the situation and finally award this pawn to the Mastiffs. On the pitch, the former Toulouse player enjoys it, even when he has to wait several minutes: “We hoped there was a goal, but it was a bit long. We were wondering what was going on. In the end, when it takes time, it adds suspense and makes the joy even more intense afterwards. The longer it is, the better it is? That’s exactly it, yes”he concluded, bursting out laughing.
