Promising Senegalese defender Mikayil Faye, 20, continues to attract attention in Europe, notably from Bayer Leverkusen.
Author of 10 appearances including 7 starts this season with Stade Rennais, Faye was approached by the German club. However, Bayer finally decided to delay by focusing on a more experienced profile, that of Mario Hermoso.
Despite this decline, interest in the former Barça player remains intact. If a transfer this winter now seems unlikely, a departure next summer cannot be ruled out, especially with his recently reduced playing time in Brittany. Three consecutive matches on the bench before his start against AS Monaco highlighted this situation.
