Reading, an activity which for some is a hobby, for others a consuming passion. And then there are those people who have not yet dared to take the plunge or who have not yet become interested in this activity. For all these people, with varied profiles, the 9e edition of Reading nights should delight them.
In Uzège Pont du Gard, several activities are on the program for this weekend, which will take place from January 24 to 25, 2025 with one objective: to open reading to everyone.
Multiple activities for Reading Nights
In Blauzac
On January 24, the meeting is held in the village of Blauzac by the association Écrilire30 and the library. The association offers reading aloud by candlelight around the theme of heritage.
“The one proposed by the association is “the literature of the intimate”, the heritage bequeathed to us by our ancestors, what has been transmitted to us or not, through the generations, family stories”details the association of Blauzac and Sanilhac-Sagriès.
During this evening, you will have to choose an extract from a text to read aloud of a maximum duration of two minutes. For the shyest, they can be spectators.
From 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Blauzac temple. A free evening followed by an aperitif.
In Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie
On January 25, reading lovers can go to Saint-Quentin-la-Poterie. A literary cafe special Nights of Reading will be proposed by Alain Laroche. He will invite readers to talk about literary creation and his novel, “A Sensitive Project”, over coffee or tea.

On January 24, the Fournès library offers a meeting with two authors: Sylvie Durbec et Christian Faison. Children's author, Sylvie Durbec will offer several creative workshops for children. As for Christian Faison, he will offer a conference on resilience. It will be followed by a time of discussion. The two authors, after the meetings, will be present for a signing session.

To Aramon
On January 24, on the Aramon side, the media library invites readers, from a young age, to come with their blanket and pajamas to enjoy reading.
To Meynes
On January 25, the Meynes media library will meet in its premises for numerous workshops intended for children, but also for adults on the Japan theme.
On the program for this afternoon: meeting with a mangaka from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.; at the same time, why not draw a Chibi (a small person, baby or child), a workshop for the general public; from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., time for Sakura drawings for children; from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.: calligraphy (kana and kanji) for adults; from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Japanese tales will be read.
An afternoon which will begin with a presentation and a tasting over tea and which will end with a snack. An exhibition on Japan will also be visible at the media library.
