AS Saint-Étienne faces a new crucial match against AJ Auxerre this Friday, but will have to deal with several important absences. Three players are already suspendedwhile two other executives are likely to follow in the event of additional warning. This situation highlights the recurring difficulties of the Saint-Etienne workforceweakened by repeated suspensions.
Suspensions confirmed for three players
ASSE will be deprived of the services of Ibrahim Sissoko, Benjamin Bouchouari and Louis Mouton against Auxerre. Sissoko is still serving a two-match suspension, while Bouchouari and Mouton received one match suspension after an accumulation of warnings. These forced absences further weaken an already limited workforce, forcing the staff to review their battle plans.
Larsonneur and Stassin under threat
But that's not all. Gautier Larsonneurthe captain and titular goalkeeper, as well as Lucas Stassinthe key attacker, must hold their own. Larsonneur received a yellow card against Nantes for protesting too vehemently, while Stassin is just one warning away from a suspension. Their presence is crucial for the next matches, but a misstep could deprive them of competition.
