What was supposed to happen, happened. Benjamin André was sanctioned by the Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League (LFP) this Wednesday.
A handful of days ago, on January 17, LOSC hosted and surpassed OGC Nice in its home (2-1), the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy. Initially manhandled in the first period, Lucas Chevalier saved the furniture with several decisive saves, as much as his crossbar on a point-blank attempt from Tanguy Ndombélé. If the Mastiffs had reversed the trend during the second act, achieving a completely successful period, the accumulated frustration had already erupted at the start of the match. Benjamin André was out of control after being judged at fault by François Letexier. His protests led to the sanction: a card.
The Disciplinary Commission of the Professional Football League met and revealed its various sanctions this Wednesday, through a press release published in the evening. The Lille captain is logically suspended for an accumulation of yellow cards: Olympique de Marseille (14/12), AJ Auxerre (10/01) and OGC Nice (17/01). The sanction will take effect from Tuesday January 28, 2025 at midnight. Benjamin André will therefore miss the reception of AS Saint-Étienne on Saturday February 1, a match counting for the 20th day of Ligue 1 McDonald's.
All sanctions
- A match of firm suspension and a match of suspended sentence
Gabriel Osho (AJ Auxerre) - A match is closed following a third warning in a period including 10 official competition matches (Ligue 1 McDonald's, Coupe de France) or by revocation of the suspension.
