PSG has declared its ongoing financial dispute with Kylian Mbappé to UEFA and will not be threatened in the short term by the European body.
Something new in the financial dispute between PSG and Kylian Mbappé. While the player's clan had asked the FFF to inform UEFA of its dispute with the Parisian club, which the French Football Federation had not done, PSG itself decided to inform the European body of its “open dispute” with his former attacker.
A way for PSG to be transparent and comply with UEFA regulations “on club licensing and financial viability” which requires clubs competing in European Cups to provide a declaration confirming the total debts owed to their staff, as well as the absence or existence of payment arrears.
The Mbappé dispute amounts to 98 million euros, charges and taxes included
According to L'Equipe, PSG informed UEFA that it had a “open dispute” with Kylian Mbappé for an amount of 55.4 million euros, which including social charges and taxes amounts to 98 million euros. As PSG has seized the Paris judicial court to contest two unfavorable decisions by LFP commissions, it is not worried for the moment.
-UEFA does not intend to rule on this dispute until the French courts have ruled on this matter. The time taken for justice can be very long, PSG is therefore not worried for the moment and is also giving itself time to try to find an amicable agreement with its former player.
However, an amicable agreement does not really seem to be in the pipeline since Mbappé is not letting go of the matter and has for his part referred the matter to the FFF's higher appeals commission to try to obtain payment from PSG. For the moment, no hearing date has been set by this commission and the case is suspended for the decision of the Paris judicial court.
