In its quest for defensive reinforcements for this winter transfer window, AS Saint-Étienne seems to have set its sights on Sadibou Sanéthe promising central defender of FC Metz. However, the Greens are likely to come up against a major obstacle: the current fourth in Ligue 2 would not want to sell their nugget this winter, unless there is an impossible offer to refuse.
An attractive profile but a complex operation
Only 20 years old, Sadibou Sané has impressed since the start of the season with his solid performances in the Metz defense. His potential and versatility, allowing him to play both centrally and on the sides, naturally attracted the attention of Saint-Etienne recruiters. Nevertheless, FC Metz seems determined to keep its jewel, at least until the end of the current financial year, unless colossal offer from the Greens.
A less than encouraging precedent with Metz
This intransigence of Garnets is not a new thing for the AXISwhich had already come up against their firmness last summer in the matter Mathieu Howl. The negotiations therefore promise to be difficult, and the Saint-Etienne leaders will probably have to review their plans to strengthen their defense this winter, unless they formulate an impossible offer worthy of the name to snatch Sadibou Sané in the clutches of Metz.
A path to follow for the future?
Although the doors currently appear closed for an immediate transfer, the AXIS could keep a close eye on the evolution of Sadibou Sané with a view to a possible movement during the next summer transfer window. The young Senegalese defender undoubtedly represents a promising profile which could prove valuable in strengthening the Saint-Etienne rearguard in the medium term.
