In search of playing time at the high level, Sidi Bane signed on loan with FC Annecy until the end of the season.
Arriving this summer from BATE Borisov, the 21-year-old defender is leaving Racing Club de Lens this winter to discover Ligue 2 with Annecy. Confined to the reserve since his arrival, the Senegalese goes to see higher than the National 3 and will also find another member of the Lensoise reserve on loan, Anthony Bermont.
Sidi Bane: “I really like the game project”

FC Annecy is aiming to climb into the elite at the end of the financial year. The arrival of Sidi Bane would allow it to strengthen its defensive sector. With RC Lens B, the player played 9 of the 11 matches of the B, including 8 in the shoes of a holder. All this in National 3, but the interest is to see him evolve at a higher level. Sidi Bane has a contract with Racing until 2028. It is a dry loan, therefore without a purchase option. In a press release from FC Annecy, the defender comments: “ When the sports director called me, I said to myself that I would like to join the group. I really like the game project, and I had the opportunity to watch the matches. It's a team that plays well, with a very rhythmic style, which I really like. There are good young players, and I think I have similar qualities. I’m really happy to join the club! I am a technical and lively player, very good in duels. To be a good defender, you need these qualities, and I think I can still improve them. I can't wait to meet the supporters and have fun with them, on and off the pitch. I will give everything to please them, score goals and proudly defend this jersey! »
