Jorge Sampaoli addressed the difficult situation at Stade Rennais in Ligue 1 on Friday before the derby against Brest. The Argentine coach confirmed the crisis but remains confident in the possibility of getting out of it quickly and despite the placement of players in the Breton loft.
Successor to Julien Stéphan on the Stade Rennais bench, Jorge Sampaoli has had a complicated start in Brittany. The Argentine coach has not yet managed to revive the team. Before the reception of Brest this Saturday (7 p.m.) during a suspenseful derby, the Rennes technician spoke about the deep crisis of the club.
“There are different analyzes to be done. There is what we want to do and what we cannot do. There is what we do not even want to do. There are few possible answers when we is sinking into crisis”, said the former OM coach on Friday during his appearance at a press conference. “We have to be fair in the diagnosis. Should we restore confidence or give a boost? We have to understand reality. “The reconstruction of Rennes begins”
Only 14th in the ranking at mid-season, Rennes disappointed and is only one point ahead of the play-off place. Despite recent difficulties, Jorge Sampaoli believes in a revival for the Breton team on Saturday against Brest.
“We have to understand what the problem is, identify it. The club must change the situation otherwise it will remain a victim of the situation. The reconstruction begins on Saturday. From tomorrow, a new cycle begins. We cannot look behind, Saturday the Rennes' reconstruction cycle begins,” insisted the fiery Argentine coach.

Sampaoli is not at the origin of the loft
With the arrivals of Brice Samba and Seko Fofana during the winter transfer window, Rennes has strengthened. Above all, the Breton club must forget a very rhythmic summer in terms of arrivals but where few recruits were satisfactory. To the point of seeing management set up a loft to leave certain players out.
“The loft is a decision of the president, of the club.
