Saint-Maurice-sur- – Volunteers honored during the mayor’s greetings

On the evening of Friday, January 10, a large audience attended the Mayor's greeting ceremony.

In a sumptuously decorated Multi-Activity Room, Thierry Rigollet, after greeting the official personalities, opened the big book for the year 2024.

The significant events of the year were discussed, with the Mayor commenting on a rich slideshow through which everyone was able to remember municipal actions, meetings, but also more difficult moments.

A video went into detail on the inauguration in June of the work to requalify the RN66 and its surroundings, a flagship project in recent years for our village, finally completed.

Those present were also able to have fun by taking a quiz about our town. Humor was not forgotten, with some photos provoking outright laughter.

The team of volunteers who renovated the roofs of the small naves of our church were honored and were offered a packed basket to each person.

Of course, this symbolic gesture alone cannot express all the gratitude of the Fremis for an extraordinary and very rarely encountered investment! Another big thank you to them!

Finally, Thierry Rigollet underlined the importance of municipalities in a with a more than uncertain political landscape. He demanded, supported by the Association of Mayors of France, a distribution of taxes allowing more management autonomy for local elected officials.

Christophe Naegelen, the Deputy, agreed in the same way during his speech during which he recalled his actions for the year 2024.

In conclusion, the Mayor presented his wishes to the assembly, before inviting them to share a friendly drink around local cold meats and cheeses from Tim and Lili's garden!
