FC Nantes is in danger this season in Ligue 1. The Canaries therefore want to strengthen themselves as much as possible this winter during the transfer market.
Fifteenth in Ligue 1 tied on points (16) with play-off Saint-Etienne, FC Nantes knows that its survival is still very far from being assured. The Canaries do not lose hope of making their supporters proud but for that, Antoine Kombouaré is convinced that his squad needs reinforcements this winter on the transfer market. The FC Nantes coach does not hesitate to send clear messages to his management so that they can offer him interesting profiles. Already, Anthony Lopes has arrived, which should reassure him, as will the defensive sector. But Kombouaré wants much more.
Kombouaré lucid on the situation at FC Nantes
In recent hours during comments relayed by West Francethe former PSG technician has in fact requested reinforcement from each line before the end of the winter market, under penalty of experiencing great disillusionment at the end of the season: “Recruiting a defender was already part of the needs. We look at a defender, a midfielder and in front, three or even four players, one per line. (…) The transfer window is far from over. I'm waiting and I know that my leaders know that today we need reinforcements, quality players to regenerate the group. A need for arrivals which does not necessarily have to translate into departures, even if we know that since the start of the season, we have players who wish to leave. Kombouaré could quickly be heard by his leaders because according to West FranceNantes wants to bring in Kamaldeen Sulemana, who played for Rennes and is currently a Southampton player. Also, the Canaries want to try to sign Jonathan Ikoné. Problem, the Frenchman from Fiorentina does not make a signing for Nantes a priority.
