This is one of the big surprises looming in the OM transfer window, given the promises announced around this great talent. According to information from l'Equipe, young prodigy Enzo Sternal, promising striker for the Marseille club, is preparing to leave the club to join Anderlecht. Revealed by his performances in the youth categories, notably by winning the French U17 Championship in 2023 and the prestigious Gambardella Cup last year, Sternal seemed destined for a great rise in the Olympian jersey.
Sternal is heading towards Belgium!
Arriving from the Nancy training center in the summer of 2022, the French U18 international has however only made two appearances in Ligue 1 this season. Despite notable debuts in Brest and Montpellier, the lack of playing time within the professional squad would have pushed the player to consider leaving. Under contract with OM until June 2027, Sternal should therefore go to Belgium, where Anderlecht would offer him more opportunities to express himself on the pitch.
This transfer marks a hard blow for Marseille, which sees an emerging talent escape. Endowed with undeniable potential, Sternal seemed to embody real promise for the Marseille club. However, the attraction of a more engaging sporting project seems to have weighed heavily in his decision.
