Journalist
After trying different sports, Thibault turned to a career as an amateur footballer. When making a choice between becoming a professional footballer and a journalist, the qualities tipped the scales to one side. Here he is now in the editorial staff of 10 Sport, after a diploma obtained at the International Institute of Communication in Paris.
On August 16, 2014, the meeting between PSG and Bastia at the Parc des Princes was marked by a huge controversy. Indeed, in the colors of the Parisian stadium, Brandao, striker of the Corsican club, attacked Thiago Motta, midfielder of the capital club, by headbutting him in the face. An event to which Franck Tabanou returned, revealing a reaction that was unexpected to say the least.
We still remember these images of the corridor of the Parc des Princes. We could then see Brandao to wait for Thiago Motta to come and headbutt him in the face. The ex-PSG player, more pumped up than ever, then found his face bleeding. An attack which did not go unpunished for the man who was then playing Bastia. In fact, the Brazilian was notably sentenced on appeal to 5 months in prison with a fine of €20,000.
“On the pitch, he was too boring”
Whether with Toulouse or theASSE, Franck Tabanou had the opportunity on several occasions to face Thiago Motta when he was at PSG and it hadn’t been easy then. To the point of rejoicing at what happened to him in the face of Brandao ? In agreed remarks, he explains in particular about the Italian: “ The smartest player I faced? Thiago Motta. On the pitch, he was too boring. Sometimes, before the match, we told ourselves not to respond to provocations, but, in the heat of the moment, some have difficulty managing their emotions ».
“He had taken care of everyone, I was happy”
« He made small mistakes and would cry to the referees. With Brandao, he took care of everyone, I was happy (laughs). Still, I was in love with this player. He always knew what to do, even under pressure. You felt like he played the game the day before », then added Tabanou concerning Thiago Motta.
