Courted by a well-known European club, the future of Kevin Danso seems uncertain for RC Lens.
This summer, Kevin Danso’s future at RC Lens has been uncertain. After a great 2023/2024 season with the Sangs et Or, many clubs, includingAS Romehave expressed their interest in the Austrian. The transfer to the Italian club seemed on the verge of success, but was canceled at the last minute by AS Roma due to negative results during the medical examination.
-This failure deeply frustrated Danso: “I am disappointed and very upset by how these last few days have gone and the failure of the transfer to AS Roma. First of all, I am very surprised to the supposed reason for canceling the transfer.” Still present in Lens, Danso continues to attract the attention of clubs, notably Fenerbahce. The Turkish club submitted an initial offer of around 16 million euros for Kevin Danso. However, the negotiations dragged on, pushing Fenerbahçe to suspend discussions with Lens and remove Danso from their list of targets.
Leave or stay for Kevin Danso?
With Abdukodir Khusanov set to leave the club for the Premier League, Kevin Danso’s future at RC Lens remains uncertain. Although the Austrian continues to attract interest from European clubs, the potential loss of the Uzbek would make the departure of Danso particularly detrimental for the Bloods and Gold.
The second part of the season will be crucial for the team led by Will Still. The latter has already expressed his concerns regarding the club’s current financial model, which forces them to sell players to maintain stable finances. Under contract until 2027, Kevin Danso could still stay in Lens, but he could also pack his bags, as planned this summer.
