The end of the Oukidja era in Metz goals?
FC Metz formalized this Thursday the free arrival of goalkeeper Arnaud Bodart in its ranks, since Standard de Liège. The child of the Rouche club is heading to Ligue 2 after eight and a half seasons spent in Belgian D1. With this recruitment, the leaders of Metz seem to be preparing the continuation of Alexandre Oukidja36 years old and at the end of his contract next summer. Screwed to the garnet cage for seven years now, the Algerian international could therefore become an understudy. And this despite his six clean sheets in sixteen league matches this season.
A six-month contract for Bodart
To make a hole in Moselle, Arnaud Bodart was offered a six-month contractuntil the end of the current financial year. As part of the first transfer of his career, the 26-year-old Belgian goalkeeper will have to quickly acclimatize to the environment of 4e of Ligue 2, which aims to move up to the elite. After 19 years with Standardwhere the nephew of Gilbert Bodard (12 caps with the Devils) arrived at the age of 8 in 2006, Arnaud Bodart leaves behind 190 professional matches… and a goal scored against KAS Eupen at the end of 2020.
-An offensive recruitment, in short.
