Approached by Bologna last summer, Alexsandro finally made the decision to stay at LOSC. He explained this choice this Thursday at a press conference.
More than six months ago, during the summer, LOSC recorded around twenty movements by counting departures and arrivals. He could have had one more with Alexsandro (25 years old), whose profile had attracted Bologna in Italy. The Italian team had just lost Riccardo Calafiori, transferred to Arsenal, and was ready to pay nearly 20 million euros at the end of the deal to secure the services of the Brazilian defender. The latter finally lasted forever in Lille. A choice that he explained to the media this Thursday, a few hours before a trip to Auxerre.
“I experienced this period (the summer transfer window) quite calmlyhe begins in almost perfect French when he can take the time to concentrate.
I didn’t have the stress of a transfer because I’m happy here, in Lille. There are great players, a great staff, a great president too…he quotes before continuing with the progress of the negotiations. While he crossed paths with Bologna during the first part of the season, it was during a victory acquired on hostile grounds in the Champions League (1-2), Alexsandro admitted not to regret his choice: “We are currently having a very good championship and a great Champions League campaign. A new coach has arrived… Everything is going well for me and I hope to stay in Lille as long as possible. I never had the slightest doubt in my head”he said this Thursday. He then headed off to join the group, already ready to attend a video analysis session led by Bruno Genesio and his technical staff.
