If the first opportunity is Stéphanoise on a nice recovery of the ball in midfield: the Greens project themselves with Marion Romanelli who manages to find Adèle Connesson in the area. Reims quickly showed some response by recovering a poorly played free kick by the Greens who offered a counter-attack to their opponents, but saw Maryne Gignoux win the duel outside her area. The intensity then decreased quickly, due to numerous stoppages in play. Vigilante, Maryne Gignoux did not forget the essentials on her line and magnificently deflected a long shot from Maite Boucly onto her crossbar in the 34th minute. The Reims number 15 will nevertheless offer herself a new opportunity in an ideal position and open the score with a strong moment just before the break (ASSE 0-1 Stade de Reims, 39th).
Returning from the locker room allows the Greens to (re)project themselves forward. But Reims is not giving up… It's time for a change: Adèle Connesson and Morgane Belkhiter give way to Cindy Caputo and Alexandria Lamontagne. Laurent Mortel's players, who were hoping to find a second wind, unfortunately saw Reims double the lead: Hawa Sangare's header made the break, replaced by the linesman who announced that the ball had gone in despite the intervention on the Solène Champagnac line (ASSE 0-2 Stade de Reims, 62nd). The number 29 from Reims even scored a double and sealed the victory for her team a few moments later (ASSE 0-3 Stade de Reims, 68th). Despite final adjustments: Lisa Martinez for Solène Champagnac (72nd) then Maeva Maniouloux and Taeryne Job for Sarah Stratigakis and Marion Romanelli (89th), the score remains frozen. Reims wins on the pitch at the Salif-Keita stadium.
Today's results benefit Montpellier and Nantes who secure points ahead of the Greens. Reims returns to the ranking, but remains at five points. We will have to reassure ourselves this Sunday against a no less serious Olympique de Marseille (D2) in the Coupe de France before traveling to Fleury on the weekend of January 17.
