New main broadcaster of Ligue 1, DAZN had chosen to remove the multiplex. An anomaly in the eyes of observers of the French championship which will finally be corrected.
Last season, Prime Video offered a multiplex when several Ligue 1 matches were being played at the same time. Historically, this has always been offered by the broadcasters of the French championship, including Canal+ and BeInSports. But since the start of the season, DAZN had put an end to the tradition. Despite three simultaneous posters on Sunday at 5:15 p.m., the English platform had chosen to offer the matches separately on several channels, without offering consumers the possibility of watching the multiplex.
DAZN resurrects the multiplex
An anomaly for Ligue 1 fans, who like this kind of format as long as their team is not involved in order to be able to follow several matches at the same time. DAZN heard the discontent of its subscribers and made the decision to correct this bug. Indeed, l'Equipe affirms that from next week, the main broadcaster of Ligue 1 will present a multiplex on Sunday at 5:15 p.m. Two matches will be affected: Toulouse-Strasbourg and Montpellier-Angers. The following week, this will also be the case with two matches on the program but from the 19th day, three posters will be present in this multiplex.
At the presentation of the match between OM and Le Havre on Sunday evening at the Vélodrome, Georges Quirino will have the task of hosting the multiplex on DAZN. A very popular choice that delighted the greatest number of people on social networks. Little by little, the Ligue 1 broadcaster is scoring points. As a reminder, just before the winter break, the English platform made the decision to launch a Sunday evening magazine to summarize everything that happened in Ligue 1 during the weekend before the closing poster. At the same time, DAZN continued its promotions to attract as many people as possible, which tends to confirm that a real editorial and financial effort is currently being made by the British company to establish itself over the long term in France. It remains to be seen whether or not this will work in the long term.
