Back on the field, USL Dunkerque pocketed the draw point (1-1) at Guingamp this Saturday. This point allows Enzo Bardeli and Ugo Raghouber to climb to second place in the Ligue 2 standings.
On cloud nine before the holidays, the USL Dunkirk players did not leave their comfort on their return to competition. The latter discovered a pitch worthy of the Champions League this Saturday, traveling to Guingamp in the grounds of the Stade de Roudourou which hosts Brest for its European games. Master of their subject, the northern team however did not transform the attempt and returned to the locker room empty-handed at the end of the first act. The second half left tactics aside and increased the intensity on the field. This new appearance initially benefited the Dunkirk residents.
At the heart of the USL Dunkirk midfield, Ugo Raghouber fired a cross on the right wing to destabilize the Guingamp block. Alone, Yacine Bammou had plenty of time to adjust a precise cross behind for Enzo Bardeli who only had to put his foot in opposition to make the nets shake at close range (56′). This hard-won advantage did not last very long for the visitors, however, surprised by a free kick played quickly from deep. Rayan Ghrieb, former Dunkirk player, reset the counters to zero (59′). The match could then have gone one way or the other, but this was not reflected on the scoreboard and the two teams parted with a draw (1-1). This point benefits USL Dunkerque, which climbs to second place in Ligue 2, one point behind FC Lorient (33 pts), in the position of a promoted player.
Indisputable in the Dunkirk starting eleven, Ugo Raghouber played the entire match despite the arrival of cramps ten minutes from the final whistle. A defensive midfielder, he made good recoveries, distributed valuable balls and even tried his luck twice, without success. He also, as too often, received a yellow card. The native of Clichy, on loan from LOSC on the coast, accumulated 14 appearances (909 minutes) at mid-season.
