Present at a press conference, Jean-Louis Gasset refused to make a firm decision for Téji Savanier. President Laurent Nicollin will make the decision as to whether the midfielder will play OL – Montpellier, Saturday (9 p.m.).
This should only have been a financial sanction, but it could go further in the end. Fifteen days after the elimination in the Coupe de France, the defeat against Le Puy Foot 43 (4-0) is still very present in Montpellier. There is, however, a trip to Décines on Saturday (9 p.m.), but humiliation still occupies the Hérault discussions, notably because of Téji Savanier. The MHSC captain was guilty of a sentence in the middle of the match where he said that being last was going rather well while receiving €210,000 per month.
Despite the player's apologies, the club will not decide on the sanction until Friday morning. “I'm used to respecting the hierarchy. I talk about the athlete, the club will talk about the rest, slipped this Thursday Jean-Louis Gasset during his appearance at a press conference. Friday morning, before leaving for Lyon and that's why I didn't give the group, the president will speak at nine o'clock. At this level, we will know a little more Friday morning.”
“We will adapt to the situation”
In the midst of a sporting crisis since the start of the season with a place at the bottom of Ligue 1, Montpellier would have done without such an episode which calls into question the preparation for the match against OL. Assuring that he knows nothing about anything, Gasset “go listen, the group listens and then we will adapt to the situation.” It could therefore well be that the Hérault club arrives between Rhône and Saône without its captain. Even if it is considered out of shape by some, it remains an important parameter to take into account.
