With the start of 2025, Real Madrid is preparing a very big file behind the scenes, that of the contract extension of Vinicius Junior. A key element of the Merengue attack last season, the Brazilian is at the end of his contract in June 2026. The clubs of the Gulf Kingdom would be ready to cover him with gold to bring him into a championship which would clearly make a good move in terms of marketing and media impact. Real Madrid rightly fear losing their winger, knowing that the latter has already confided that he wants to spend his entire career at Real Madrid, but that he also has a more venal entourage, and for whom the offer from Saudi Arabia should not be refused forever. Florentino Pérez intends to play his part, and offer him a generous contract to convince him to stay in the Spanish capital.

In the negotiations set to begin at the start of 2025, Vinicius Junior made it known that he wanted to have the best salary in the club, even if it meant sharing first place with Kylian Mbappé. Enough to suddenly wake up the Spanish press, since Don Balon affirms that this condition greatly displeases the Frenchman. The latter made “efforts” in terms of salary to leave PSG and sign for Real, and would not understand if Pérez suddenly found financial means to increase Vini's salary to the highest step. A war of egos which can weigh on the locker room, where the two players also seek to take power even if their performances since the start of the season are not yet unanimous.
