Seko Fofana (29 years old) is officially a Stade Rennais player, on January 1, 2025.
Stade Rennais has just made it official, Seko Fofana officially joins the Rennes ranks until 2029. Transferred from Al-Nassr, the former RC Lens midfielder was purchased for around 20 million euros by SRFC. Author of 135 Ligue 1 matches (18 goals, 12 assists), the Ivorian international left Lens in the summer of 2023 to join Saudi Arabia. Loaned to Al-Ettifaq since January 2024, he is therefore making his comeback in France with the aim of helping an SRFC in difficulty in L1 (12th, 17 points).
Fofana's first words
“I am very happy to join Stade Rennais and start 2025 with this new challenge. I have always observed Stade Rennais carefully, it is a club that I have often met, it counts in this championship. The discussions with Arnaud Pouille and Frederic Massara made the difference. They told me about the project and the expectations of the shareholders. The message was strong and the decision was very simple afterwards. I'm very excited about starting, there are talented players at Rennes and I think the club is out of place.
