While the winter transfer window has just opened, players free from any commitment next June can already start negotiating with their next club. And this concerns a good handful of elements within the LOSC workforce. Tour d’horizon.
Strong forces at the end of their contract
Besides Jonathan David et Angel Gomesthe emblematic and media cases, seven other LOSC players are reaching the end of their contract. Starting with Remy Cabellawhose playing time remains interesting at almost 35 years old, other experienced elements could well leave the free club next June. This concerns Vito Mannone (36 years old) and Ismaily (34 years old). While an early termination of contract is considered, Samuel Umtiti still has six months to go, without having the certainty of being able to play again.
In the unwanted section, Akim Zedadka should regain his freedom at the end of the season. Recruited to be third goalkeeper, Marc-Aurèle Caillard could well be offered a contract extension. Stay Mitchell Bakkerwhose loan will mature. It remains to be seen whether LOSC will want to extend the adventure with him. However, the main project will concern players whose contract expires in June 2026. To avoid the risk of a free departure, LOSC could be forced to let go of a Edon Zhegrova or even a Gabriel Gudmundsson.
